Li River
As the elite of the Guilin landscape, Li River is a bright pearl among Chinas beautiful mountains and rivers. It is originated from Maoer Mountain at Xingan County, northeast of Guilin. The landscape is decorated with sloping hills, steep cliffs, enchanting caves and farming villages and the river is lined with bamboo. The segment of Li River from Guilin City to Yangshuo City, which is nearly 100 km long, looks like a green silk belt, winding among the peaks and the chains of mountains. The miraculous peaks, green mountains and blue waters mutually embellish, just as a 100-kilometer-long Chinese traditional gallery. As a Chinese poem goes "the river is a green silk ribbon, and the hills are jade hairpins".
