    • Trans-Siberian train tickets

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      The Trans-Siberian routes (Trans-Russian, Trans-Mongolian) are some of the most popular train journeys in the world.

      On the Trans-Russian you can see all that Russia and Siberia has to offer by travelling between Beijing and Moscow;

      On the Trans-Mongolian you can get a taste of Siberia alongside Mongolia and China by travelling between the ‘Tow Capitals’; Beijing, Ulan Bato.

      You are able to get a feel for China by travelling through the Manchuria region of the country as part of your journey between Moscow and Beijing.

      Trans-Russian & Trans-Mongolian Journey Planner

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • The Trans-Siberian routes stretch from European Russia through Siberia, Russia’s Far East, Mongolia and northern China, and if you were to travel on each of the Trans-Russian, Trans-Mongolian and Trans-Manchurian you would cover over 25,000km. The Trans-Siberian is not just a rail journey, it is an experience.

  • There is no one train called the ‘Trans-Siberian Express’, rather there are many trains that make the journey between the destinations of the Trans-Siberian railway as well as the wider Russian, and international, rail network.

  • For independent travellers understanding the complex rules, tariffs and discounts of Russian train tickets, and then purchasing them, particularly where more than one journey is involved, can be a bit of a challenge.

  • We have created our Trans-Siberian Journey Planner, and our more general train ticket booking system, in order to remove the challenge and hassle from booking train tickets; creating one less barrier to booking the journey of a lifetime.

    On Firmenny trains you will also receive a meal and personal hygiene products.

    Basic second class, sometimes called a ‘Kupe’ this is a cabin for four people with two lower bunks with storage underneath, two upper bunks, a window table and a lockable door. Towels and bedding may be provided in the ticket price though often you will need to prepare your own bed with any linen provided. On trains where this is not provided you can obtain them from the carriage attendant for a nominal fee. The cabin may also have air conditioning and a radio. Note on some trains to and from Europe second class may be a cabin with three berths; top, middle and bottom.

    Third class sleepers, also often known as ‘Plazkart’, contain 54 berths in each carriage. The berths are grouped into nine cabins with no doors which contain six berths; two upper and two lower; plus two side berths over the corridor, one upper and one lower. The lower side berth may be transformed into a window table with two seats when not being used as a bed. While a mattress, pillow and blanket is provided for each berth, pillow cases, sheets and covers are not and may be obtained for a nominal fee from the carriage attendant. Common storage space is below the lower berths inside the cabin, the lower side berth and above the door inside the cabin.
