Phone booths are commonly available in major cities but rare in rural areas or in the far west. Many cellular phones from other countries work in China, but these calls can be expensive. Hotel phones can also be very expensive for local and international calls. You can check with your phone service provider to obtain call rates. Dialing Methods:

1. Call from China to another country: 00 - country code - area code - phone No. Examples: To USA 00 1 999 123 5654; To Britain 00 44 66 333 3333.

The common dialing codes are:

USA & Canada 1

UK 44

France 33

Germany 49

Australia 61

2. Calls to your Cell Phone in China:

Dial the required code to make an international call from your country e.g. USA – 00 plus the country code for China 86 and the number which was been supplied 123 4565 7898. Example: 00 86 123 4565 7898.

3. Domestic calls to land lines within China:

You can dial the phone number directly.

Note:

1. The phone networks have a very good coverage in most areas of China. But Mainland Chinese networks do not function in Hong Kong.

2. You may receive text messages in Chinese. These messages are always advertisements or possibly weather information. We cannot block or turn these off. If anyone in China needs to contact you, the message will be in English. If you are concerned, please ask your guide to read the message.

3. Your phone can be delivered to your hotel (please submit the address when purchase) or delivered to you by your guide. And you need to give back the phone to us before you leaving.
