Visit Badaling Great Wall & Ming Tombs.
In the early morning, we will drive to the Badaling Great wall. The Great Wall symbolizes Chinese ancient history. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site built in stages throughout the ages, designed as defense from attacks from the north. It is often said that the Great Wall stretches around one-twentieth of the worlds circumference, and is the only man-made object visible from space with the naked eye. The section of the Great Wall that is most often visited was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 A.D.). The sheer scale of the wall can only be appreciated with a visit to marvel at the human endeavor needed to create such a magnificent structure.
After that, visit Ming Tombs (Shi San Ling). Located about 50 kilometers northwest of Beijing, the Ming Tombs lies scattered at the southern foot of Tianshou Mountain in Changping country. Within the Ming Tombs are 13 of the 16 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. Two tombs are open to the public for viewing. One is Chang Tomb, the largest of the tombs, and the other is Ding Tomb. Visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Ancient City Wall, and Shaanxi History Museum.
As the symbol of the old-line Xian, Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayan Pagoda) is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. It is located in the southern suburb of Xian City, about 4 kilometers (2.49 miles) from the downtown of the city. Standing in the Da Cien Temple complex, it attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion, its simple but appealing style of construction, and its new square in front of the temple. TheSouth Gate and North Gate are the two main entrances to the inner city. The city itself is neatly arranged along the city wall.
