Tianjin
Known as the diamond of the Bohai Gulf, Tianjin is located in the northeast of China with an area of 12,000 sq km (4,633 sq mi) and has a population of over 9.3 million people. It is governed as one of the four directly controlled municipalities along with Beijing, Shanghai, and Chongqing. It is famous for its large port which connects with all of the coastal provinces of China and provides a gateway for importing and exporting goods to Beijing. Tianjin is split in to 2 areas, the old city and the Binhai New Area. The Binhai area is one of Chinas most advanced areas of industry, innovation and foreign investment.
