Situated at the foot of Elephant Hill, Black Dragon Pool shows visitors picturesque scenery with a large crystal pool, luxuriant trees, a tall mountain and historic buildings in graceful shapes. The white Yulong Snow Mountain and green Elephant Hill throw their reflections into the crystal clean water, forming marvellous scenery. There are also ancient buildings of Naxi Nationality, which make the park fulfilled with human landscapes.

With an area of 40 hectares (over 430,000 sqft), the Heilongtan pool also provides a heaven for birds and water-life, with spectacular plants. The pool is surrounded by some ancient monuments, such as the Longshen Temple, the Deyue Pavilion, the Suocui Bridge, and the Hanyue Stage.
