The Stone Forest is located on the border of Shilin County in Yunnan Province.  The area is comprised of densely arranged karst columns as well as a number of other unique sights, including teeth-like stones, dissolved hills, billabongs, and mineral lakes, caves eroded out of the rock, an underground river, natural bridges, and waterfalls.  Culturally, this area was inhabited by the Yi and Sani peoples, who created much art inspired by the landscape in which they lived.
