Shennong Stream
Located in the Hubei
Province of central China, Shennong Stream flows south, finally combines into
the Yangtze opposite the city of Badong. Many tributaries from Shennongjia forestry
District moved and lived here for years. Its splendid history and beautiful scenery
have attracted thousands of tourists to visit this quiet place every year.
You may see boat
trackers, the only way for a boat to travel on the river when it gets stuck on
a sandbar. It is backbreaking work that
has remained unchanged for centuries. This
is impressive but you may feel a bit guilty. These boat trackers, who keep the old
tradition alive, are local farmers who do this to earn some extra money and
supplement their income.
