West Lake
The West Lake is the most famous lake in Hangzhou and in all of China because of its picturesque landscapes. It is located in the city center and has a circumference of 15 kilometers (9.3 miles). It is considered to be one of the four beautiful sites of ancient China. It has inspired some of Chinas most famous poets and philosophers, many of which lived or meditated in the surrounding areas. There are many unique flowers that bloom here including the Peach Blossom, the Plum Blossom and the Lotus Flower. The lake is surrounded by three mountains which contain unique cultural artifacts in a tranquil setting.
