Known as the “Venice in Shanghai”, it is a well-preserved waterside ancient town, rivers criss-crossing the village and hundreds of ancient buildings stand at the banks.  It was already a country fair as early as the Warring States Period, 1,700 years ago.  There, we can still see the traces of the antique markets and streets of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.  There are still remains of historical sites such as rice and oil stores, which offer a glimpse of life in the old days.  The antique buildings and simple life-style of the towns people will give visitors a feeling of peace and rest.
