Shanghai/Kunming
Visit the French Concession Region, Xintiandi.  Then fly to Kunming.
French concession region is a great area to explore, from the old European buildings in shady avenues to the cafes and restaurants and up market shopping area of Huaihai Lu.
Xintiandi is nestled between the towering skyscrapers in city center.  It is one of the busiest urban tourist attractions and imbued with the citys historical and cultural legacies.  Shanghai Xintiandis Shikumen building was created by converting traditional residential blocks into a multifunctional dining, retailing and entertainment center flowing with restaurants, boutiques, cafes and bars of international standard.

Kunming
Visit the Stone Forest,Jiuxiang Caves.
The Stone Forest is in the Yi Nationality Autonomous County, Yunnan Province.  It covers an area of 2,670 square kilometers and is divided into several scenic areas with names like Greater Stone Forest, Lesser Stone forest, OuterStone Forest,Underground StoneForest, Stone Forest Lake, and Da Dieshui Fall.  The Stone Forest was formed by karsts two million years ago.  The Forest was contains peaks, pillars, stalagmites, depressions, underground rivers, and caves.  The fantastic stone pinnacles rising abruptly from the ground resemble a huge, dense forest.
Located 47 kilometers from Yiliang County, 90 kilometers away from Kunmingcity, only 22 kilometers from the famous stone forest, JiuxiangCave is a famous tourist destination in Yunnan Province encompassed by karsts caves, deep valleys, and Yi ethnic minority’s cultural landscapes.
Note: The final stage is to climb up Bat Cave. This is the most challenging part as there are about 336 steps.  Sometimes there are laborers who offering sedan chair service.

Lijiang
Visit the Lijiang Ancient Town, the Black Dragon Pool.
Lijiang Ancient Town is situated in the middle area of the county, which is more than 2400 meters high above sea level.  It enjoys beautiful scenes, an indeed famous city with long history and splendid culture; it is very rare in Chinathat such well-preserved minority ancient city still exists.  The old town is quite busy in the afternoon and evening with an active atmosphere of the lights and crowd.  An early morning visit will be less crowded.
The Black Dragon Pool is a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Parklocated at the foot of Elephant Hill, a short walk north of the Old Town of Lijiang in Yunnan province, China.  The Black Dragon Pool was named after a legend stating that in ancient times there was a black dragon living in this pool.  It was built in 1737 during the Qing Dynasty and offers a spectacular view on the regions tallest mountain,Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, over its white marble bridge.  Surrounding the pool, within the parks landscape, are ancient monuments such as the LongshenTemple, the Moon-Embracing Pavilion, the Suocui Bridge and the Hanyue Stage.

Lijiang
Visit the Jade Dragon Mountain,Baisha Murals at Baisha Village.
The 13 peaks of 18,360-footJade Dragon Snow Mountain, a treasure of wild plants and rare animals, are like a silver dragon lying in the clouds.  The cable car will take you into the clouds, where you will be far away from the worldly hurly-burly, and find yourself in a real paradise.  Many visit Ganhanzi, Baishuihe (White Water River), and Glacier Park from this cableway.
Baisha Murals are painted over a thousand years ago, combined the cultures of Han, Tibetan and Naxi people displaying the life stories of the Tibet Buddhism, Confucian and Taoism.

Lijiang
Visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge.
Tiger Leaping Gorge is located 60 km north of Lijiang City, Yunnan Province in southwestern China.  It is part of the Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas World Heritage Site.  Spring is the best time to visit, as melting snow flowing down from mountains makes the river turbulence at its peak.

Shangri la
Visit the Pudacuo National Park, Songzanlin Lamasery.
Located near Shangri-La in Chinas Yunnan Provincein southwest China, the Pudacuo National Parkcovers a total area of nearly 2,000 square kilometers.  This park has an average altitude of 3,500 meters and retains a well-preserved ecosystem within the virgin forests.  The must-see scenery in this park includes Lake Bitaand Lake Shudu. "Bita" means "a place with a dense oak forest" in the Tibetan language and "Bitahai" means a quiet lake.  The Bitahai Lake is surrounded by mountains covered with ancient pines, oaks and rhododendrons, and appears like an emerald in the heart of the mountain.  Shudu Lake is located in northeast of Shangri-la and it is one of the largest fresh water lakes on the Diqing plateau. The lake is surrounded by a forest of fir, spruce and silver birch, and is home to lots of wild animals such as bears, golden cats, deer and pheasants.
The Songzanlin Monastery, often called Ganden Sumtseling Monastery or Guihua Monastery, is located at the foot of Foping Mountainnear Shangri-La Countyin Yunnan Province.  The monastery is built on a hillside and looks like an ancient fort.  The Songzanlin Monastery is often called the little Potala Palace because of its traditional Tibetan architectural style.  Although smaller than Lhasas PotalaPalace, the Songzanlin Monastery is magnificent, and its picturesque location and beautiful buildings make this an important stop for any visit to Yunnan Province.
